PLAINWELL (WKZO) — It’s not often that a domestic dispute results in a call for the bomb squad, but that’s exactly what happened this weekend in Plainwell.
It all began when Allegan County Deputies were dispatched to a domestic call at an address in the Gun River East Mobile Home Park Saturday afternoon.
The argument led to the discovery of a pipe bomb in the bedroom of the young man who lived there.
It was found by his mother. Deputies called in the State Police Bomb Squad, but by the time they got there, a family member had already diffused the device, which Troopers determined wasn’t a real bomb after all, just a homemade smoke bomb.
The young man was still arrested for domestic assault.
