BURR OAK TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office says a man is hospitalized in critical condition after being ejected from his Jeep in a rollover on M-66 in Burr Oak Township.
Sheriff’s deputies say it happened at around 8:20 p.m. Thursday.
Investigators say the Sturgis man was reaching for an item in his SUV while approaching Banker Street when the northbound vehicle veered off the pavement. It then struck a culvert and went airborne before rolling twice.
First responders found the 21-year-old outside the vehicle upon their arrival. He was later loaded into an ambulance and rushed to a hospital.
The man was also given a citation for careless driving.
