DULUTH, MINN. (WKZO-AM) — Western Michigan hockey is looking to break a five-game losing streak this weekend on the road against No. 17 Minnesota-Duluth.
Broncos head coach Andy Murray says the Bulldogs have plenty of blue-chip players on their roster.
“Minnesota-Duluth was picked as the preseason No. 1,” Murray said. “They’re laden with juniors, seniors and National Hockey League draft picks.”
“They’ve got good players and an experienced coach,” Murray said.
Western is seventh in the eight-team National Collegiate Hockey Conference, but is just two points out of fifth place.
Puck-drop is set for 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The games will be carried on 96.5 WZOX-FM in Kalamazoo.
