DOWAGIAC (WKZO-AM) — Police say a man was showing off a handgun at Bennie’s Barber Shop in Dowagiac Tuesday afternoon when the gun accidentally discharged, striking a teenager in the ankle.
Police say the bullet ripped through the wall and nicked the 15-year-old, who was working next-door at Saylor’s Pizza.
It’s being called an accident, but the owner of the firearm may still face reckless discharge charges if the prosecutor determines criminal negligence was involved.
