BERRIEN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — A former employee for the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department has been charged with embezzling over $75,000 over an unspecified period of time, using the money to fund her gambling habit.
Jo Ann Roberts, 66, of Buchanan had been in charge of collecting payments for the cost of court-ordered tethers for the last 17 years. She was allegedly slipping money out of those payments and into her own personal account.
Her bond was set at $10,000.
