BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — City commissioners have voted in favor of removing the year-end expiration date on Battle Creek’s food truck ordinance.
The first-reading of the amended code happened Tuesday, with the revision set to become law upon passage of a second reading this month.
The commission adopted the ordinance last year to assess what impacts the mobile eateries would have on brick-and-mortar restaurants in the city’s downtown area.
The ordinance, if approved, would allow up to seven vehicles to serve grub between Capital Avenue and McCamly Street.
