UNDATED (WKZO-AM) — If national pollster Trilby Lundberg is right, drivers in west Michigan looking for gas bargains are paying some of the lowest prices in the nation as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday.
According to a new Lundberg survey, the average price dropped eleven-cents in the past two weeks and now averages $2.14 a gallon.
“The overall high supply of crude in the world is the biggest reason and the U.S. dollar also continues to strengthen,” Lundberg said. “It may or may not be the case that demand is being hurt by international jitters.”
She says the trend suggests things may get even better for motorists through the holidays.
“If crude oil prices don’t change, we might see a bit more price slippage at the pump,” Lundberg said.
AAA reports this morning the average price in Michigan stands at $1.94.
The average in Battle Creek and Benton Harbor is about $1.89, it’s about $1.91 in Holland-Grand Rapids and $1.76 in Kalamazoo.
