KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Western Michigan University will hold a celebration Friday after construction workers bolt the last beam into place at the school’s new Valley Dining Center.
A “topping out” ceremony is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. outside the structure near the Goldsworth Valley Pond on the Kalamazoo campus.
The $36 million, 67,000 sq. ft. complex will feature nine different dining experiences, ranging from classic American, to Asian, to Italian, to a breakfast bar.
Construction on the new dining hall should be done by August.
