BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a basement fire that caused around $40,000 damage to a home on Randolph Street in Battle Creek.
Firefighters found the rear of the structure in flames when they arrived at the scene before 3 p.m. Saturday.
No injuries were reported and the homeowner was not inside the residence at the time of the blaze.
Fire crews found no smoke detectors inside the structure.
