GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO-AM) — A grisly discovery may close a missing person’s case that was nearly a decade old.
A crew trimming trees with Christmas decorations near the Cook Funeral home in Byron Township spotted something in the water in a nearby pond. Divers from the Kent County Sheriff’s Department found a car that, inside, had the skeleton of a person who had been missing from Wyoming since 2006.
The license plate and the wallet belonged to the missing person, but an autopsy is planned to verify the body belongs to the same person.
