ALBION (WKZO-AM) — It took hazmat crews over six hours to remove a record-breaking amount of meth-making ingredients from the garage of a home on Irwin Avenue in Albion.
Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies received a tip about the mega-lab after 4:30 p.m. Monday. Investigators say they’re still trying to contact the property owners, who were not home at the time.
The Calhoun County Health Department has ordered the residence to be vacated, but say there’s no current threat to surrounding properties.
Investigators are calling it one of the largest finds in county history.
