KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Rep. Jon Hoadley says Michigan legislators have begun reviewing the details of a proposed state energy bill package.
Hoadley, a Democrat from Kalamazoo, said it left committee last Thursday night, and votes on elements of the package could come as early as Tuesday in the House.
“There’s, like, four big pieces of it,” Hoadley said. “How much is renewable? How much is energy-efficiency? How much our rate-payers going to pay? Then there’s some other issues around monopoly and choice.”
But Hoadley said details will have to be hammered out between the House and Senate, which could take some time.
“Even if the House passes something, the Senate may have some different ideas,” Hoadley said. “So, I imagine this one will go back-and-forth a little bit.”
Hoadley says something should be on the governor’s desk by the end of the year.
