KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Charges will not be filed after a knifepoint robbery on the Western Michigan University campus outside Burnhams Hall.
School police say the victim chose to close the case and is no longer cooperating with the investigation after multiple follow-up interviews.
The victim told police that two men demanded his wallet while he was sitting in a car at around 3 a.m. on Oct. 24.
Police later believed the victim was targeted by both men.
The victim later identified one of the suspects as a student at the school, who denied his involvement in the crime. That man’s name will be submitted to WMU’s office of student conduct and they will decide whether disciplinary action is appropriate.
