BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Police in say they’re looking for the person who fired an arrow through a cat’s neck in Battle Creek.
The animal was found with an arrow through the nape of its neck near Frelinghuysen Avenue on Tuesday.
Veterinarians conducted an emergency extraction of the 15-inch bolt after 8 a.m. and prescribed antibiotics after the surgery was complete.
The cat is expected to make a full recovery. Investigators say they will recommend felony charges if they find and arrest the bowman.
Last month, another cat in Eaton County was found with a bolt through his abdomen. He too is recovering after emergency surgery. No arrests have been made in that case.
