KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A suspect who was part of the largest methamphetamine ring ever busted by the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team has been recaptured after he skipped bond and fled to Mexico to escape prosecution.
Scott Allen Webber, 29, was one of several drug dealers who were operating from multiple locations in Kalamazoo. During the course of the investigation, Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team officers found nine pounds of the drug in a storage locker rented by one of the conspirators.
WWMT-TV reports that Webber called U.S. Marshalls, saying he was in Tijuana. Officers were able to talk him into crossing back in the U.S. where he surrendered to border agents.
He will eventually be shipped back to Michigan for prosecution.
