LAPEER (WKZO-AM) — An investigation into allegations made by Todd Courser that he was being extorted by a mysterious texter into either resigning or having his affair with Cindy Gamrat exposed has reportedly been handed over to prosecutors.
Prosecutor Tim Turkelson says he may take a week or two to review it. Courser is calling for its immediate release to clear his name before Tuesday’s election.
There were reports the disposable phone used by the texter was sold to someone claiming to be Todd Courser, something that Courser denies.
That’s separate from the investigation into allegations that Courser and Cindy Gamrat misappropriated state funding and committed other possible crimes during their wildly inappropriate half-year in office.
The Michigan State Police investigation is reportedly ongoing and there are no indications it will be done anytime soon.
