UNDATED (WKZO-AM) — The remnants of Hurricane Patricia are being felt across the country, but the intensity of the storm in the Pacific is still a major talking point among meteorologists and weather experts.
Western Michigan University geology professor Todd Ellis warns that the earth’s warming climate could very well result in more-frequent and intense storms.
“El Ninos have happened long before our warming,” Ellis said. “But, as a whole, more-intense and more-frequent storms should be part of a warming climate, and we should start seeing evidence of that over the next 20 or 30 years.”
Patricia brought cloudy skies, some rainfall and strong winds to west Michigan, likely bringing an end to the fall color season.
