MARSHALL (WKZO-AM) — A man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to take a shotgun away from a police officer in Marshall.
It happened late Saturday after officers were dispatched to the Walden Pond Townhomes on Arms Street to deal with a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, they spotted a man pointing a gun at another person.
Those officers called for backup and the established a perimeter around the structure. Three men were allowed to leave the apartment and the fourth man was still inside.
They went in to arrest him, but, when they tried, he started wrestling with the officer for the shotgun which went off once into the ceiling during the struggle.
They had to use a stun gun to subdue the suspect. The officer and the suspect were both taken to area hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
The suspect is being held for felonious assault and resisting arrest.
