KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Western Michigan University’s football team is looking to send alumni home happy this homecoming with a win Saturday over Miami University.
P.J. Fleck, the head coach at WMU, said the RedHawks are “dangerous,” despite losing their last six games.
He said MU has some special players, including 6-foot-4, 248-pound freshman quarterback Billy Ball.
“Big kid, got a gun, got a cannon,” Fleck said.
He was also impressed by Miami’s receivers.
“Tall, lanky, giraffe receivers — these guys are long, and big and they can run,” Fleck said. “They’re all freshmen and sophomores, they haven’t played, but the minute they figure it out — bang, watch out.”
Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on 96.5 WZOX-FM.
