KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety has released the name of a 25-year-old suspected drug dealer who is on their most wanted list for his involvement in a chase that included injuries to an officer, but that is not the only reason.
They say Deon Burnette has been arrested 25 times since 2004 and was already wanted on three outstanding warrants before this latest one was issued.
He is being sought this time for felony resisting and obstructing an officer.
They claim he was the driver who led officers on a high speed chase through the East Side, that ended when he and another suspected drug dealer abandoned the car and made a run for it two weeks ago.
They say Burnette managed to elude capture.
A PSO suffered a minor injury in the struggle, trying to arrest the 28-year-old who did not get away.
If you see Burnett or know his whereabouts, please call the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8994, the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team 337-8880 or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
