BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — The owners of the Baker Estates Mobile Home Park in Battle Creek have been awarded $155,000 for lost profits after claiming that the Enbridge oil spill in 2010 negatively impacted the property.
Battle Creek Realty sued the Canadian company for $6 million. It was one of the few disputes between the firm and local property owners that wasn’t settled along with hundreds of other claims.
Jurors reached a verdict in the case Wednesday, saying that the spill didn’t permanently damage the land.
