KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The Kalamazoo Wings will be wearing special pink jerseys and raising funds for breast cancer research during the team’s fifth-annual Susan G. Komen night.
Head Coach Nick Bootland said there will also be an emotional ceremony during Friday’s game against the Toledo Walleye.
“Twenty-three survivors, I believe, are going to get an opportunity to come out onto the ice — either they’re going to be skated out onto the ice or come out on the carpet,” Bootland said.
A silent auction will also be held during the game, which starts at 7 p.m. at Wings Events Center. All proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
