CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — Sheriff’s deputies in Calhoun County are looking for a suspected drunk driver who abandoned his burning car early Sunday, fleeing the scene on foot.
Deputies were called by passing motorists to Interstate 69 near the Interstate 94 exits in Marshall Township, where they found a car fully involved in fire.
They followed the trail of the vehicle which had gone through two medians and one guardrail before smashing into the second guardrail and bursting into flames.
A perimeter was set up and a tracking dog employed, but he lost the scent. It took a fire truck to put out the car.
Investigators are now examining the vehicle to try to identify its owner.
