MARCELLUS (WKZO-AM) — Van Buren County Sheriff’s investigators are trying to figure out what caused a roll-over wreck near Marcellus that has left a man and two teens from Vicksburg dead.
The driver has been identified as 21-year-old Brandon Van Walbeck. The passengers have been identified as 15-year-old Andrew Rambow and 16-year-old Hunter LaRose.
They aren’t sure at this point when the wreck occured. First responders say all three were dead at the scene. The engine was cold when EMTs arrived, so the accident must have occured well before the vehicle was discovered.
Dispatchers began receiving calls about the crash on 94th Avenue near the intersection with M-40 after 8 a.m. Thursday.
It’s believed the vehicle struck at least one tree after failing to negotiate a curve in the roadway, which sent it rolling and flipping back into an overgrown area, making it difficult to see the wreck from the roadway.
Investigators suspect speed may have been a factor in the crash.
