KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The Kalamazoo County Aviation Board has begun demolishing the old passenger terminal at the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport after failing to find any practical use for the structure.
Originally, while the new terminal was under construction, there was talk of converting it into a business conference center or some other facility, but they could never identify a market or find the funding for remodeling.
Heavy machinery moved in this week.
They hope to add parking and a place for the public to watch takeoffs and landings.
