BURR OAK (WKZO-AM) — A 43-year-old man who was lying in the middle of Burr Oak Road in St. Joseph County remains hospitalized after being run over by a pickup south of Ackey Road.
Sheriff’s investigators say the 56-year-old driver was unsuccessful swerving around Ricaurte Hernandez after 9 p.m. Saturday.
Hernandez was airlifted to a hospital in Kalamazoo in stable condition.
The driver of the truck was not hurt. It’s not clear if Hernandez was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident.
