DETROIT (WKZO-AM) — AAA says gas prices throughout Michigan are up for a third-consecutive week.
“The price per gallon is $2.52,” club spokesperson Susan Hiltz said. “That’s about nine cents more than last week’s average, but, the good news is, it’s about 76 less than it was at this time last year.”
Hiltz saidn reduced fall driving and the transition to cheaper winter-blend fuel should be pushing prices lower, but she also said other factors are at play.
“The refineries are certainly doing some maintenence,” she said. “Also, there’s some uncertainty about global oil demand right now.”
Marquette has the cheapest gas at $2.40, while Jackson has the most-expensive gas at $2.56.
According to GasBuddy.com, the average price for a gallon of gas in Kalamazoo is $2.47.
