LANSING (WKZO-AM) — The case of a Burlington woman who was sentenced to 25 years in prison for criminal sexual conduct will be reviewed by the Michigan Supreme Court.
Lorinda Swain is asking for an appeal after being found guilty in 2002 of sex crimes with her adopted son.
Swain insists that she was innocent, and the child has since recanted.
A Calhoun County judge has ordered new trials for Swain on two occasions after the discovery of new evidence, but each request was turned down by the high court.
Swain claims a former boyfriend who failed appear at trial would have given favorable testimony.
