BERRIEN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — Investigators say alcohol appears to be a factor in a wreck that killed the 23-year-old passenger of a vehicle, whose driver fell asleep behind the wheel on M-139 near West Rocky Weed Road in Berrien County.
Michigan State Police say Elizabeth Calderhead was not wearing a seatbelt when the vehicle struck a telephone pole, then smashed into a sign at around 2 a.m. Saturday.
The woman was pronounced dead after being rushed to a hospital.
