HURON COUNTY (WKZO) — After surviving 85 years, it’s a heck of a way to die. James J. McNeil thought he would take a ride on a zip line at Bay Shore Camp in Michigan’s thumb region.
That’s a Christian camp in Huron County about 95 miles north of Detroit. A zip line is one of those super long super strong clotheslines that you can ride along hanging below.
Well this time something went wrong with the harness mechanism that hooked the West Michigan Man to the line.
It failed and he fell 25-feet to the ground while his horrified wife watched.
McNeil From Belmont near Grand Rapids never regained consciousness. The Employee working the line was certified and trained and the Sheriff is calling it an accident.
