KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The media is expecting the Western Michigan University men’s hockey team to finish seventh in the eight-team National Collegiate Hockey Conference this season.
Minnesota-Duluth, Denver and North Dakota took the top three spots in the preseason poll.
It would be a familiar spot. The Broncos finished seventh in the league last season, putting together a 6-13-5 conference record.
WMU plays an exhibition Oct. 3 against Lethbridge and officially starts its season Oct. 9th against WCHA foe and rival Ferris State. Both of those games will take place at Lawson Arena.
