DETROIT (WKZO-AM) — AAA says Michigan’s average gas price has jumped to $2.34 a gallon.
“That’s about seven cents more than last week’s average, and that’s about $1.03 less than last year’s average,” spokesperson Susan Hiltz said Monday.
She said prices were pushed higher because of global instability and an increase in the wholesale price of fuel, but also said there should be less pain at the pump by the end of the year.
“That’s based on crude oil remaining low, supply relatively high and demand relatively low,” she said.
Marquette has the cheapest gas at $2.24, while Ann Arbor is the most expensive on average at $2.37.
