KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Organizers with the High on Kalamazoo Balloon Festival are expecting a busy weekend for the event, which starts Friday.
This year, the festival is moving from the Air Zoo to Gull Meadow Farms, where there are a lot of other fall attractions.
Justin Wendzel manages the farm and says the balloons will leave from the farm in the evenings and fly into the farm in the mornings. A balloon glow event is also scheduled from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Live music is scheduled for both nights too, Wendzel said.
All of the farm’s usual fall attractions will also be open for business.
“We’ve got apple-picking, we’ve got a corn maze, wagon rides, a zip-cord, and donuts and cider,” Wendzel said.
Like all balloon events, its weather permitting. The location is on Gull Road near Richland.
