ALBION (WKZO-AM) — The suspect arrested for an attempted rape over the Labor Day weekend in an Albion College residence hall has been formally charged and ordered held on $25,000 bond.
Keontia West, 20, allegedly broke into the woman’s room and had climbed into her bed when the woman began screaming and fighting. He then fled the scene, according to prosecutors.
They say West is an Albion resident who had been visiting a student on campus earlier.
West was tracked from the scene by surveillance cameras, where officers say he broke into an unoccupied building on campus.
That’s where Albion and campus police confronted the suspect, who they claim resisted arrest.
West is also charged with home invasion and assault.
