LANSING (WKZO) — House Staff is recommending that Michigan Representative Cindy Gamrat be censured and that Todd Courser be expelled for their rules violations, unauthorized use of tax payer money and for a cover up that what one staffer described as the “quite possibly the most bizarre attempt at misdirection seen in the history of this Legislature.”
House Attorney Brock Swartzel says Courser was the prime mover in most of the abuses that took place and Gamrat was more like an accomplice.
The recommendation came after Gamrat tearfully testified and apologized, describing her first 6 months in office as “off key and lacked respect that is due to the office”
]The Committee is expected to hear testimony Wednesday from Todd Courser who has already submitted his own written apology, taking full responsibility and asking for forgiveness.
A recommendation could come from the Select committee as soon as this second hearing.
