LANSING (WKZO-AM) — The first of what will be at least two hearings on the Courser-Gamrat affair will be held Tuesday in Lansing.
A special select committee has had a week to go through the voluminous and largely still-secret report, alleging the tea party Republicans used tax-payer dollars to not only cover up their affair, but to do political work outside their responsibilities as State House members and, in Courser’s case, use staff workers at his private law firm.
Gamrat has been apologetic.
Courser, meanwhile, has been defiant, calling the Select Committee a “kangaroo court.” He also said he’s being singled out due to his lack of popularity.
Courser said resignation is not an option, while Gamrat said it’s one of many she is considering.
The two Democrats on the committee have now called for the public release of the entire investigation report. That could also come up for discussion Tuesday.
