GRAND HAVEN (WKZO-AM) — Two elderly female pilots from west Michigan are attempting to fly to all 48 states in the continental U.S.
Kalamazoo resident Mary Creason, 90, is behind the controls. Her co-pilot, Betty Young, is 84.
“When I turned 80, 80 years of age, I decided that it wasn’t real smart of me to fly by myself, because you never know what’s going to happen to an elderly person,” Creason said.
The pair left from Grand Haven over the weekend, en route to Rochester, N.Y. They say they plan to start their adventure in the New England states.
They have no timetable for their adventure — their only goal is to have a good time.
