VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO) — A Super Drunk faces a list of charges after he had to be chased down by Van Buren County Deputies Saturday night.
The 34-year-old from Allegan not only had a blood alcohol count that was 2-1/2 times the legal limit, but when deputies tried to pull him over in Gobles, he sped off, reaching speeds of up to 70 mph on the city streets.
He barely missed having a head-on collision when he strayed over the centerline, forcing the other driver off the road
. The Chase came to an end in the parking lot of the Village Market just south of Gobles.The suspect suddenly swerved over the curb and into the lot and stopped, but refused to get out of his 2002 Silverado until he was dragged out.
Records show it was the man’s fourth drunk driving arrest three in the last year alone.
Inside the truck they found two open beer cans and an empty whiskey bottle.
He had a suspended license and no insurance. He is also being held for fleeing and eluding and resisting arrest, and was on probation for the previous drunk driving arrests.
