BERRIEN COUNTY (WKZO) — A State Trooper tried to pull over an Audi with out of state plates racing westbound on I-94 Saturday just after 2 p.m. but quickly found himself in a police chase with a 31-year-old driver from Burbank, Illinois who did not want to cooperate.
Other cruisers joined the chase across Van Buren County and down into Berrien County at high speeds. They were finally able to box in the speeder and forced him into the cable barrier, after he rear-ended a state cruiser.
When they searched the suspects car, they learned why he ran. They found marijuana and other drugs.
He was arrested for, possession and fleeing and eluding. There were no injuries and only minor damage to the police cruiser.
