KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) – A man is hospitalized and a second is jailed after a fight over a cell phone led to a stabbing.
Authorities say it happened after 6 a.m. Tuesday at the Oakbrook Trailer Park in Kalamazoo Township when a 31-year-old confronted a 27-year-old, claiming that the younger man had his cell phone. They claim the younger man produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the side and shoulder.
The suspect then fled back into a trailer after EMTs loaded the victim into an ambulance.
Officers surrounded the mobile home until they could obtain a warrant. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail after several residents of the community were interviewed.
The victim is expected to recover.
