BRIDGMAN, MI (WHTC) – House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton of St. Joseph accompanied Shelly Moore Capito, chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Clean Air and Nuclear Safety, in a tour of the Cook Nuclear Power Plant in Bridgman. According to a statement from the two lawmakers, the visit was to highlight the safe operation of that facility and to hold discussions about energy supply reliability. They didn’t go to the Palisades plant near Covert, whose safety record has been checkered.
