LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The Michigan Agency for Energy and the state Department of Environmental Quality, after a conference call with various leaders, agreed that Michigan will develop its own State Carbon Implementation Plan in the wake of the President’s initiative to cut down on emissions from existing power plants. The plan, which will be submitted to Washington in a year’s time, aims to maintain the state’s control of its energy future and not be subject to a yet-to-be-determined federal plan.
