State Agency Nixes Adding Autism to Medical Marijuana List

LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The state Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs ruled that autism will not be added to the list of medical conditions that can be legally treated with marijuana. The agency expressed concerns about how the weed would be administered to minors and that research on the impact of medical marijuana on autistic children is not yet conclusive. The decision comes after two public hearings were held on the matter, and a review panel had voted to recommend adding autism to the list.
