LANSING, MI (WHTC) – In a campaign finance report, the organized labor-backed group Citizens for Fair Taxes reported raising 1.15 million dollars in a four-week period since the state Election Board in July approved ballot petition language for raising Michigan’s Corporate Income Tax from six percent to 11 percent. The group needs to collect more than 252 thousand valid signatures to put the issue before voters in November of 2016. Supporters say that it would raise about 900 million dollars annually for roads.
