DETROIT (WKZO) — The GM ignition switch compensation fund has completed its work and found nearly ten times as many deaths should be attributed to the faulty part as the automaker found.
That’s not to say the compensation fund was an easy touch.
91% of the claims they received were rejected.
The process, which was directed by Lawyer Kenneth Feinberg approved 399 of the over 43-hundred claims filed.
124-were death claims, and another 275 sought compensation for injuries. The families of those who died will get at least a million dollars.
GM has set aside 625-million dollars for compensation.
