BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) — A man and a woman are in custody in Battle Creek after they allegedly passed phony one-hundred dollar bills in at least 4 businesses Saturday night.
More may turn up. The manager at the Big Boy on West Columbia became suspicious when an 18-year-old woman passed the $100 bill to buy a milk-shake, left with the change but left the shake behind.
Police were provided with a description of the woman. They spotted her leaving the Speedway Station, and took her into custody.
Their investigation led them to a 31-year-old male who was also arrested.
They are being held until formal charges are issued.
