CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO) — A motorcyclist from Battle Creek is in critical condition at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after he tried to avoid crashing into a tree that had fallen across the road in Pennfield Township Saturday night.
The 22-year-old was riding with two other motorcyclists on Pine Lake Road.
The victim laid down his bike to avoid a collision.
He suffered serious head injuries, which might have been even worse if he had not been wearing a helmet.
He was air-lifted to Kalamazoo for emergency treatment.
His name is being withheld until family members are notified.
