SOUTHFIELD (WKZO) — It was a wedding to remember.
The couple who became the plaintiffs in the lawsuit that brought down Michigan’s ban on gay marriage, got married themselves at a big event in Southfield on Saturday. Jayne Rowse and April Deboer only challenged it because it kept them from adopting each other’s children.
They were afraid that if anything happened to either one of them, the family would be broken up.In a particularly appropriate touch,
Federal Judge Bernard Friedman who presided over their lawsuit also presided over their wedding.
They are all going to Florida for a Honeymoon and then return home to fill out the paperwork to adopt their childen.
