KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — It’s not clear what three men were shooting at, but Public Safety Officers were close enough to the gunfire in the 800 block of Simpson Street to hear it and respond immediately.
They heard multiple gunshots at about 3 a.m. just north of the Stuart Neighborhood and then spotted the three who began to run as soon as they spotted the officers.
2 were able to get away, but a 24-year old who was observed discarding a loaded 9mm handgun from his waistband was apprehended in the 800 block of Woodbury.
He is being held for resisting arrest, and two felony gun charges, pending arraignment. Police continue the search for the two others.
