COMSTOCK (WKZO) — A particularly violent gas station heist that sent the clerk to the hospital is being investigated by the Kalamazoo County Sheriffs investigation.
Two men were dropped off at the Marathon in the 2-thousand block of Sprinkle at about 8:40 last evening.
A third man drove the getaway car to a location two businesses away.
The two robbers both wearing sweat outfits with hoodies walked in and jumped the counter, assaulting the clerk with a cutting instrument while the second man took money out of the cash drawer.
They then ran behind the building, jumped two fences, got into the getaway car and the car fled east. The clerk was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
The car was a light gold or tan Chevy Impala with no license plate. One man had sweat pants with the brand name SAOBE on the leg.
